PSO routes changes from October 1

As you may already are aware, there was an ongoing tender for renewing PSO routes contracts for the next 4 years. The tender was supposed to be finished months ago but the process took longer to the supervising ministry.

So far we have final results for most of the routes but there were some that an extension was granted till end of 2017 March while there were other that more than one airline showed interest to fly without any compensation.

Rhodes and the dodecanese islands will see some changes, notably after years or even decades Olympic lost some routes with Sky Express being so far the winner of most. Here's a list of the changes.

- Karpathos-Kasos(-Sitia) is switching from October 1 to Sky Express. Please note that Kasos-Sitia-Kasos legs were excluded from the tender thus Sitia is no longer available for bookings.
- Kastelorizo remains on Olympic Air
- Kos-Kalymnos-Leros-Astypalaia remains on Olympic Air till 31 March 2017
- Samos-Chios-Lesvos-Lemnos switches to Olympic Air from October 1.

- Astypalaia switches to Sky Express from October 1
- Kalymnos switches to Astra Airlines from October 1
- Karpathos no longer a PSO route, both Olympic and Sky Express will be flying from October 1. Please note that price restrictions will no longer apply.
- Leros remains on Olympic Air
