June 2013 Traffic

Here are Junes stats as released by airport authorities. Some remarks:
- New boss in the island, Russian arrivals for the first time surpassed UK, we have to go way back to see when UK was not Nr1 again.
- Most of the key markets gave increase, Italy at last shows signs of comeback.
- Finland arrivals decreased, we need to check the finnish market cause we love them.
- First flights from 2 new markets, Spain and Kazakhstan, gave mixed feedback. Vueling flying from Barcelona brought only 70 passengers/flight, hope the route will be boosted during high season while Aegean's charters from Kazakhstan did better as they gave some 125 passengers/flight, not bad for a start.
- Domestic arrivals show revival signs for second consecutive month though we are unaware if lower fares from Aegean and Cyprus allowed more people to travel from/to the capital or if the increase is primarily due to international arrivals connecting via Athens.

Living the DreamLiner @ RHO, Pt I

As you most already know, the famous Boeing 787 Dreamliner paid us a visit on Saturday 22 June. The aircraft is really beautiful as its brand new and shinny both from the outside and the inside while its really quiet even during take off. Special credit goes to all airport staff that helped us as well Thomson's cabin crew for their patience and tolerance. We thank you all :):):)

Minoan Air Routes - Summer 2013

Greek regional carrier which chose during the past winter to make business abroad terminating domestic flights will be restarting domestic operations by the end of next weekend (22-23/6). Heraklion-Rhodes is already available for bookings with flights commencing on Saturday 22 June, with up to 5 weekly frequencies.
